Type Locality and Naming

Named after the Khojakul lake, Sultanuizdag ridge. L.D. Anpleeva, B.I. Pinhasov et al., 1999. Stratotype at Lake Khodzhakul.

Synonym: Khojakul Suite, Ходжакульская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Proluvial coarse rubble in sandy-clayey filler, gravel, sand with gravel and rubble of gray, yellowish-gray color. Thickness up to 18 m.

Lower contact

Lies with erosion on the Paleozoic

Upper contact

It is embedded in Karakol deposits.

Regional extent

Sultanuizdag Range. On the northern slope of the ridge, in the gorges cut into the Karakol proluvial plain, to the south - forms a surface lying hypsometrically below the Karakol. Correlated with the Kul'kuduk Fm of the Central Kyzylkum. Used in the stratigraphic scheme of Quaternary deposits (A.I. Kim et al., 2000).
